Bringing together her love of movement of the body, fused with traditional Yoga styles, Aby offers Yoga classes to suit all levels from beginners to advanced, and understands the need of modification and variation to allow yoga to be playful and for everyone.
Through practising Yoga for over 20 years, experiencing many Yoga styles and studying with many inspirational teachers, Aby was motivated to study for three years with Richard Adamo.
Aby continues to learn and study, attending courses, workshops & classes regularly, keeping her classes diverse, interesting but maintaining Yoga.
Aby appreciates the importance of keeping the body and mind balanced, developing suppleness through flowing movement and effortless alignment.
So Aby’s classes mainly focus on the physical practice of postures (asanas) coordinated with the breath. Because there are many branches of yoga Aby will also include pranayama (breathing practices) meditation and relaxation in her classes.
Aby’s Yoga classes will help balance, strength and flexibility, release tension, increase internal energy and focus your mind, by continually exploring the body and mind “the body achieves what the mind believes”.
Yoga rewards dedication & hard work and is a great distraction from our daily duties, time for you and nothing else!
I attend two Fitstep classes most weeks help by Aby. They should be rebranded ‘Fabulous Friendly Fun Fitsteps’ Aby is professional enthusiastic supportive and entertaining. An ideal way to exercise in a friendly none judgemental setting. I also attend one of Aby’s yoga classes this is relaxing and enjoyable while Aby is encouraging and informative.

Aby’s Friday morning yoga class at Longsdon is one of my best discoveries of recent years. It is fast moving (and certainly not a stroll in the park) but all levels of fitness and experience are catered for, from beginners to those who wish to challenge themselves. I hope it will be part of my life for many many years. Again, Aby’s emphasis is on making her classes an enjoyable experience for everyone. Thanks, Aby

Aby is a really great teacher and classes always give a full body workout I’ve never been stronger and fitter. Forever hooked!

When I retired, I wanted to keep fit and stay active so I joined Aby’s Fitsteps class. Three years later I’m still going strong and enjoying every minute of it. It’s a good aerobic exercise and at the same time you learn different ballroom dance steps (without the need of a partner). She is a brilliant choreographer and cleverly interprets the music to fit the individual dances. She changes the routines regularly which not only keeps you “on your toes” but keeps your brain active too!
I then decided I wanted to do a more “relaxing” class so joined the slow flow yoga group. You can make the moves as easy or as hard as you feel able to do. I love this class as I feel that my muscle strength, posture, balance and flexibility have improved greatly.
When TAPfit came along I couldn’t wait to give it a go. This class is great… it’s fun, energetic and a full body great work out. Can’t wait for it to start up again.
Aby is so enthusiastic and “upbeat” in everything she does. It’s no wonder her classes are so popular. Thanks, Aby

Having done yoga with Aby for a few years I blame her completely for my sleep deprivation after early morning yoga classes 😉 – fortunately she does evenings too! But I do get a sense of accomplishment when I manage to do a little bit more than I thought I could. Her teaching style and ability does make you feel like you can do it and made it worth getting out of bed for! Aby keeps me motivated and I always feel better for going. Who knew yoga could be so much fun?

Aby’s classes are fabulous! I was recommended by a friend when the 1st lockdown happened to try her classes and I’m still doing them 2 years later. I take part weekly in both Yoga and Pilates sessions and I have yet to do the same class twice. Aby‘s classes have improved my joint health, suppleness, flexibility, strength and they are fun too…. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

I have been attending the above yoga class with Aby Kate for at least the last 3 years she is the best teacher I have ever had and have been practicing yoga for some 30 years with various teachers and different styles of yoga . Aby covers every area of your body every week and her classes are very varied, but you can always tell that you have done one. I feel so energised when I come out and feel so flexible at 66 that’s a great feeling well done Aby keep up the good work!

I have attended various classes taught by Aby Kate at different venues for over 10 years, including online classes during Covid and since Covid, namely, Full Body, Pilates, Yoga, Fitsteps and Zumba.
Throughout this time I have found every class to be highly enjoyable, challenging and Professionally organised. In my opinion, Aby Kate is an excellent teacher and motivator.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Aby Kate’s classes to anyone regardless of their level.

Aby’s enthusiasm for what she does is contagious, the classes are fun, challenging and diverse. If you engage in other sports or the gym throughout the week this is the perfect opportunity to stretch tired and aching muscles while working your often forgotten core. Truly a fantastic workout for the body and mind! Thanks for all your hard work Aby, James.

Yoga is an excellent addition to all exercise programmes and sporting disciplines as well as a standalone discipline.
Aby teaches a variety of yoga classes where there’s something for everyone.
Gentle Flow Hatha Yoga – ideal if you are new to yoga, returning to yoga having had a break or someone who wants a class with a steadier pace.
Hatha Vinyasa Yoga – is a flowing style of yoga that harmonizes breath & movement to give strength & agility.
Power/Vinyasa Yoga – a strong and energising class incorporating more advanced poses.
Yin Yoga – slow paced encouraging you to let go, working on a deeper subtle level specifically connective tissue & fascia. Restoring and releasing blocked energy.

In Aby’s classes she will demonstrate all poses and offer many options throughout. Clear instructions are given and Aby combines traditional Sanskrit with translated asana names. Aby encourages mindfulness and asks you to respond positively to the bodies feedback. Aby will often adjust; to explore alignment, help overcome limitations, take the body further if available.

Yoga has been proven to benefit conditions ranging from sports injuries to chronic illnesses. Please let Aby know if you have an injury/condition you might need to work around, Aby will offer guidance but most importantly she will let you become your own teacher; listen to how you feel and become aware of what the body is telling you if you need to rest.
It is recommended to not eat anything heavy for 2-3 hrs before a class, small snacks or fruit is fine if you’d prefer not to exercise on an empty stomach. Drink plenty of water before a class but small sips throughout if needed.
Starting with a warm up this will develop into a series of physical postures (Asanas), simple breathing techniques (Pranayama), relaxation &/or meditation practices will conclude the session.
Practicing yoga while pregnant is one of the best ways to keep your body feeling good and your mind in balance. Please notify Aby if you are pregnant and let her know which trimester you’re in. If you’ve been practicing yoga for a while, you can continue your regular yoga practice with a few modifications and don’t hesitate to take breaks during class to rest. If you’ve never practiced yoga before, a dedicated prenatal yoga class would be recommended or consider Pilates.
