Choreography
Aby has had choreographic recognition, and worked alongside many great choreographers throughout her career.
Whilst training Aby developed a love for choreography, Aby has the ability to let music transpire into movement but also can create and produce a vision that includes not just choreography but costume and stage production.
Aby has choreographed many routines which have been included in professional performances and she co-directed and choreographed the first children’s show through the summer of 2009 at the ‘End of the Pier’ Pavilion Theatre in Cromer and Spa Pavilion Theatre, Felixstowe. Aby has also choreographed several ‘Elvis’ themed dance routines for Amanda Holden over in Norfolk for a celebrity celebration.
Aby’s most recent theatre choreography was performed at the Gatehouse Theatre in Stafford ‘Dick Whittington & his Cat’ again by students of Dragonfly Dance Centre. Aby loved choreographing a 1940’s inspired piece for Regent 22 with her senior students from Dragonfly. Aby will be beginning to choreograph her students for this summers Rooftops Studios show at the Rep Theatre, Stoke.
This December Aby was thrilled to choreograph and present alongside Ian Waite (Strictly Come Dancing), Ian Parkes, Crystal Main and several other fabulous Fitsteps Instructors at Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
Away from the theatre Aby has choreographed and performed with many of her Fitsteps Ladies at the Britannia Stadium ‘Dougie Mac Christmas Concert’, created a flash mob in Hanley Centre to raise awareness for the Dougie Mac Moonlight Walk.
Aby never stops behind the scenes Aby is often choreographing numbers for; one off shows, routines for exams at Dragonfly Dance Centre & Rooftops Studios, student audition pieces, Corporate Dance Events, Dance Workshops (Primary and Secondary Schools, team building events), Wedding Dances and Hen Parties …
Plus, choreographing routines for her weekly Dance Fitness classes in and around Stoke-on-Trent (Fitsteps, Fitsteps FAB, Zumba & Zumba Gold) Aby is often choreographing in her sleep;).
