Bringing together her love of movement of the body, fused with traditional Yoga styles, Aby offers Yoga classes to suit all levels from beginners to advanced, and understands the need of modification and variation to allow yoga to be playful and for everyone.
Through practising Yoga for over 20 years, experiencing many Yoga styles and studying with many inspirational teachers, Aby was motivated to study for three years with Richard Adamo.
Aby continues to learn and study, attending courses, workshops & classes regularly, keeping her classes diverse, interesting but maintaining Yoga.
Aby appreciates the importance of keeping the body and mind balanced, developing suppleness through flowing movement and effortless alignment.
So Aby’s classes mainly focus on the physical practice of postures (asanas) coordinated with the breath. Because there are many branches of yoga Aby will also include pranayama (breathing practices) meditation and relaxation in her classes.
Aby’s Yoga classes will help balance, strength and flexibility, release tension, increase internal energy and focus your mind, by continually exploring the body and mind “the body achieves what the mind believes”.
Yoga rewards dedication & hard work and is a great distraction from our daily duties, time for you and nothing else!
I have attended various classes taught by Aby Kate at different venues for over 10 years, including online classes during Covid and since Covid, namely, Full Body, Pilates, Yoga, Fitsteps and Zumba.
Throughout this time I have found every class to be highly enjoyable, challenging and Professionally organised. In my opinion, Aby Kate is an excellent teacher and motivator.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Aby Kate’s classes to anyone regardless of their level.

I wanted to start yoga to give me some respite from caring for my mum who has dementia. I needed an hour just for me. It has not only given me that but I also feel much stronger and yoga has improved my flexibility. I recommend everyone trying yoga. We should all take time to think of our minds and bodies. Aby your classes are fabulous. I’m hooked thank you.

When I retired, I wanted to keep fit and stay active so I joined Aby’s Fitsteps class. Three years later I’m still going strong and enjoying every minute of it. It’s a good aerobic exercise and at the same time you learn different ballroom dance steps (without the need of a partner). She is a brilliant choreographer and cleverly interprets the music to fit the individual dances. She changes the routines regularly which not only keeps you “on your toes” but keeps your brain active too!
I then decided I wanted to do a more “relaxing” class so joined the slow flow yoga group. You can make the moves as easy or as hard as you feel able to do. I love this class as I feel that my muscle strength, posture, balance and flexibility have improved greatly.
When TAPfit came along I couldn’t wait to give it a go. This class is great… it’s fun, energetic and a full body great work out. Can’t wait for it to start up again.
Aby is so enthusiastic and “upbeat” in everything she does. It’s no wonder her classes are so popular. Thanks, Aby

Me and my mum have been regular clients of Aby’s yoga classes for over a year now and can honestly say – hand on heart – that each class is filled with motivation and inspiration! Aby is always positive and this amplifies through her classes.
Each class is exciting and fun, each week is different and you can tell that there has been a lot of thought put into every class – Aby always offers us the chance to work on any requested areas whether that is an injury or weakness we wanted to improve on. She will go above and beyond to reach your goals.
She is always encouraging and enthusiastic and I would recommend Aby’s yoga classes to anyone, as a beginner or advanced as she caters for all levels.
Once you go to Abys yoga you realise that this is proper yoga!

I’ve attended Aby’s classes regularly for years. She has a friendly, professional approach with a deep knowledge of the human form and its many issues. Attending Pilates and Yoga has aided a speedier recovery from injuries sustained falling from my wayward horse. Being in my 50’s I want to stay as strong and supple as possible to guard against future mishaps !

Aby’s yoga classes are excellent. I have been attending Aby’s yoga class for the last couple of years and I have really noticed a difference in my flexibility and core strength. As a runner my flexibility was not great before i started the yoga classes. Aby most definitely provides the best yoga class in the area – by far.

Having done yoga with Aby for a few years I blame her completely for my sleep deprivation after early morning yoga classes 😉 – fortunately she does evenings too! But I do get a sense of accomplishment when I manage to do a little bit more than I thought I could. Her teaching style and ability does make you feel like you can do it and made it worth getting out of bed for! Aby keeps me motivated and I always feel better for going. Who knew yoga could be so much fun?

I danced as a child, and my passion for dance never really left me, but I found it difficult to find the ‘right’ adult dance class. I’ve now been doing Fitsteps with Aby for over three years and I love it. Classes are lots of fun and there is always a new challenge to look forward to. I now also do Swiss Ball, Yoga and Zumba. Aby has not only helped me to fall in love with dance again but she has helped me to believe that I’m capable of achieving much more than I previously thought possible, and I’m much happier, healthier, and fitter as a result.

Yoga has been proven to benefit conditions ranging from sports injuries to chronic illnesses. Please let Aby know if you have an injury/condition you might need to work around, Aby will offer guidance but most importantly she will let you become your own teacher; listen to how you feel and become aware of what the body is telling you if you need to rest.
It is recommended to not eat anything heavy for 2-3 hrs before a class, small snacks or fruit is fine if you’d prefer not to exercise on an empty stomach. Drink plenty of water before a class but small sips throughout if needed.
Starting with a warm up this will develop into a series of physical postures (Asanas), simple breathing techniques (Pranayama), relaxation &/or meditation practices will conclude the session.
Practicing yoga while pregnant is one of the best ways to keep your body feeling good and your mind in balance. Please notify Aby if you are pregnant and let her know which trimester you’re in. If you’ve been practicing yoga for a while, you can continue your regular yoga practice with a few modifications and don’t hesitate to take breaks during class to rest. If you’ve never practiced yoga before, a dedicated prenatal yoga class would be recommended or consider Pilates.
